Collaboration with Vigdis Fjellheim
For one evening, an apartment in Gamlebyen was transformed into a vibrant exhibition space with a tropical-exotic flair. This was a collaboration with Vigdis Fjellheim and the result of an intense week-long painting relay. The work was tailored to the occasion and the location, which lies close to what is perhaps Norway’s most densely “exotic” area: Grønland. The installation featured grandiose wall murals and exotic objects such as yucca palms and coconuts. The floors were covered with oilcloths arranged in a checkered pattern. The theme of the exhibition was exoticism—our fondness for the exotic, and how we in the Nordic countries decorate our homes with exotic-aesthetic objects. We also invited Fredrik Raddum, Anders Roås Stueland, Kjersti Sundland, and Ramb-oh Song Factories, all of whom created work more or less specifically for this evening.
