This exhibition was based on visual material collected during an artist residency in Eidfjord. I developed a cyclical narrative in which the same motif recurs across generations, transcending questions of origin and belonging. Each motif was presented in pairs—one half derived from archival material, the other from snapshots I took during the residency.
A key focus was the interaction between the pictorial surface and the spatial context. By combining canvas, paper, and wall surfaces, I explored how paintings could transcend their traditional two-dimensional format. The integration of acrylic works into larger wall compositions allowed the paintings to take on a sculptural, almost object-like quality.
