SOSIALDEMOKRATIPÅSKI DEL II

SOSIALDEMOKRATIPÅSKI del II is a series of paintings based on photographs of families on ski trips. The images present an idealized depiction of the Norwegian outdoor mentality. In the spirit of post-war social democracy, through physical activity and fresh air, the people in the images are united in the struggle for healthy ideals. I play with these values by referencing the collective and recognizable nature of such idealized “family album situations.” The exhibition at No5 consisted of a total of 10 paintings in varying sizes from 90×90 cm to 160×120 cm, complemented by a larger monochrome work on the end wall.
