16 plexiglass shapes with glued soda and juice bottle caps, 8 plexiglass shapes with acrylic paint

The central aspects of this work are the reuse of materials we encounter daily, recycling, and children’s creative play. Inspired by the childhood activity of “beading,” I used various plastic bottle caps to “bead” sixteen large-format figures. The motif of the sixteen shapes is based on pictograms These schematic and standardized representations of reality have become a natural part of children’s visual everyday life; on signs, in comic strips, and in encyclopedias. Together, the pictograms form a “mobile” that hangs centrally in the library at Ådnamarka Primary School, with accompanying painted shadow drawings scattered around the room.
