SOSIALDEMOKRATIPÅSKI DEL I

SOSIALDEMOKRATIPÅSKI is a series of paintings based on photographs from ski trips. Here, we find the idealized representation of the Norwegian outdoor mentality. In a kind of post-war social democratic spirit, through physical activity and fresh air, the people in the images are united in the struggle for healthy ideals. I play with these values by referencing the collective and recognizable nature of such idealized “family album situations.” At Galleri Bogenloftet, I displayed five ski paintings along with two circular paintings featuring stylized flower motifs taken from old postcards.
